Data Overwrite Security Kit
Many of the current Multifunctional Devices (MFP's) have an in-built Hard Disk Drive which manages many of the functional capabilities of the MFP. However, similar to a PC, the data remains temporarily stored in the HDD after the completion of jobs. Without securing access to the HDD, confidential information can be potentially retrieved and stolen.
To address this condition, NRG have developed a Data Overwrite Security (DOS) unit. The DOC protects the data on the HDD by writing over had disk areas used to temporarily store document data, therefore enforcing a comprehensive and internationally recognised standard for evaluating the security of IT products and systems.
International Recognition: ISO15408 Certification
We are pleased to announce that the DOS kits have obtained ISO15408 certification, EAL 3.
The ISO15408 Standard, the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC), is an internationally recognised standard that defines security requirements and establishes procedures for evaluating the security of IT systems and software. This is a highly strict and complex vetting procedure, which is essential when proving the ability to provide a solution to the important issue of document and information security.
It contains the seven defined evaluation assurance levels (EAL 1-7 : level 7 is the highest), which specify a scale for measuring the criteria for the evaluation.
NRG are proud to have achieved EAL Level 3, the highest current accreditation obtain in the industry for such security peripherals.
